Maintained university UNIX systems, installed and upgraded software
packages to the most current versions, bugtested. Assisted in various
security issues, patched broken software as it occurred. Evaluated
various web-analysis tools and software. Created and implemented
standards for all machines built & maintained by group, expanded
control over servers via CFengine. Began process of automating
patch-retrieval and notification.
Supported network and software issues on student-owned
computers; maintained dormitory public computers; corresponded and
assisted students via email, web form, and face-to-face when necessary.

Provided expertise and training in Windows 3.1/95 to members
of IS, via telephone answered faculty and staff questions regarding
supported software and hardware, installed software on both Macs and PCs,
maintained and created IS web pages, designed and produced an
informational packet and CD-ROM for new students at Wellesley. Trained
in: MS Office, Claris Homepage, VMS, and other supported software.

Designed graphics for a presentation to Bit Magazine using
various media.
Assisted students using public computers, maintained public
hardware and software. Trained in: MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Photoshop,
and other software supported by Wellesley College.
Extensive HTML coding, developed existing web pages,
transferred older pages into newer format, created and edited manuals for
new software under the GoldWorks project, and developed pages for
new clients.
Set up server during an independent study of system
administration (was ariel.wellesley.edu). Six months later was
regenned into ariel.dragonmage.net. Periodically gets regenned
to play with new versions of UNIX. Current version: RedHat Linux 6.1.

Set up server, established account-request protocols, created
accounts, troubleshot account problems, assisted user web-page design,
researched web design, archived the system, trained new system

on a PowerMac 6150/66.
Organized educational and outreach events, collaborated with
the greater Boston Society for Creative Anachronism, assisted research on
the Middle Ages, maintained Felding's web pages, recruited new
members.
